PUNTA CANA IS OPEN! WELCOME BACK!
We are happy to welcome back our guests from July 1 as the first flights start arriving to Punta Cana. After months of uncertainty for all of us, finally we can get back to doing what we love most! We’re busy doing last minute preparations for you to ensure that your visit is safe and healthy!
We are confident that with new safety protocols in place, you can relax and enjoy the exceptional experiences Punta Cana has to offer! Here we will answer some of the questions our clients have been asking about travel and COVID-19:
What will be the process of entry to the Dominican Republic?
You will be required to fill in a health declaration in addition to your tourist card on the plane before disembarking. You will have your temperature checked before being granted entry. If you or any of your group have a temperature over 38 degrees Celsius (100.4 Fahrenheit), or any other symptom of COVID-19, a rapid PCR test will be performed at the airport. Masks are mandatory throughout the airport terminal. Only travelers with a valid ticket and employees of the airport are allowed to enter the airport terminal.
What facilities will be available at my hotel?
Hotels are opening but with limited capacity to allow social distancing. Beach and pool areas will be open with social distancing rules (at least 1.5 meters) in place. Staff will be wearing masks and gloves and will assist you whenever needed. You will be able to find markers throughout your hotel to help you stick to social distancing rules. Live entertainment will not be available initially to prevent congregation of large groups. Restaurants will provide table service, with servers wearing masks and gloves. Alcohol gel will be available throughout your hotel. Temperature checks are likely to be in place for entry into restaurants and other communal areas. Check with your hotel for further details on their specific measures and guidance.
Can I go on a Tour?
Yes! The benefit of the beautiful Punta Cana weather is that most tours are outdoors! Tours will be available and you can find the most popular tours and experiences in Punta Cana here. Just like in your hotel, health and safety protocols will be followed. Capacity of tours will be reduced to allow for social distancing, so book early to guarantee your place! You will be able to experience the beauty of Punta Cana without large crowds.
Important Note: Please advise before your tour if any of your group show symptoms of COVID-19 or have a fever, and we will be happy to assist you.
