Whoop, it’s a Friday! Time to chill. Or to adventure. Whatever you want, it’s all possible this weekend. Check out all the things to do in Punta Cana for you. We have a very cool Indie festival coming up, for instance. Or what about a thrilling ride atop the trees? Let the weekend commence. Punta Cana, here we go!

Mojitos and a saxophone

Want to spend more time with your beloved colleagues or friends on Friday night? Go for a mojito at Mexican restaurant Los Burros Geniales in the Blue Mall Punta Cana. Starting from 8 pm, a saxophonist will be performing the greatest hits live. A great way to start your weekend. Just one of the fun things to do in Punta Cana.

Let’s Get Indie festival

Lots of things to do. We are still on a high from the Isle of Light Festival in Santo Domingo 2 weeks ago, but now we can actually continue enjoying live music in Punta Cana. On Saturday the 28th of April, we in Punta Cana have a VERY nice festival coming up: Let’s Get Indie. Featuring cool artists such as Pacha Massive, Riccie Oriach, La Gran Mawon, Concón Quemao, Marimba, Tango Palmera, Yago Luna and, the funniest Dominican hip-hop trio: Whitest Taino Alive. From their Noisey interview: “They rap “about anything:” driving down Santo Domingo’s boulevards, and drinking mamajuana. They’re fond of “rap game” jokes but with a Dominican flow: “Rap game Junot / I’m not a rapper or a producer / I’m a loser / This is how I lose her.””

Can’t wait to catch these kids? Let’s Get Indie starts at 4 at Rad Park, and you can buy tickets here! The best way to spend your Punta Cana weekend: listening and dancing to music!

Fishy Farmers Market

Punta Cana’s fav food market comes with a special edition this Saturday! Surprise – it’s fresh fish. Think, the freshest, just caught, still thrashing (sorry), straight from Juanillo. You can eat them right there and then, prepared for you. Yes! Check the website for the selection of fish you’ll be able to buy, and for which price. From tuna to dorado. Ceviche, anyone?

Víctor Manuelle in concert

Another music fest you can put on your things to do in Punta Cana list! Popular Latin Grammy nominated singer Víctor Manuelle, who hails from Puerto Rico, performs in Punta Cana this Saturday the 28th. This artist is a romantic salsa singer and has beat Marc Anthony for having the MOST number 1 singles in the Billboard Tropical Songs chart! With him, he’s bringing local Dominican musician Gabriel and two other support acts. Check it out at Los Establos in Cap Cana – this is a classic.

Hawaiian kids party

There is also something for the kids this weekend. At Ice Town Premium Frozen Yogurt they can enjoy frozen yoghurt, while being in a Hawaiian party setting. Expect lots of games, animation and even swimming with Dolphins from 5 pm to 8 pm. Ice Town Premium Frozen Yogurt is located in Down Town Punta Cana.

Extreme Swing Adventure

Want more thrilling things to do in Punta Cana? Are you that person dragging their friends & fam to hanging bridges, the scariest rollercoasters and the most intense days out? Yes, you. You need to try this Extreme Swing Adventure. It’s ok – you’ll just be falling from great heights. And then you’ll zip line over a beautiful valley and subtropical forest! It doesn’t actually reach extremes – the fastest you’ll go is 60 km/h. But if you want, you could also try the freefall jump from the Extreme Swing Tower… Brr.

Hotel pickup is included, wear comfy clothes. The perfect Sunday event!

Weekend trip: Visit Bacardi island

Or – if you’re more into peaceful Sundays on bounty islands, you could try Barcardi island ! The fame, the name – did Bacardi shoot on the island or is it a myth? Just like Cardi B can’t call herself Bacardi, this island has a different name too – it’s officially Cayo Levantado. It’s about a 4 hour drive from Punta Cana, so you could opt to make it a full weekend trip to Samana, too! Lots to visit on the way. This island is HEA-VEN. Lie down in the fluorescent white sand, order some fresh fish and relax. You’ve earned it. Before you know it, May is about to start!
