THE BEST THINGS TO DO IN PUNTA CANA 12 – 14 OCTOBER 2018
It is Friday which means we give you the best things to do in Punta Cana this weekend. This time you will learn some mindfulness, be inspired by great talks, eat international cuisine at a festival, and go dancing Cubano style!
Get mindful
Curious about how to be fully present, aware of where you are and what you are doing, and to not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s happening around you? Then this two-day introductory mindfulness workshop at Ananda Yoga in Punta Cana Village is for you! On Friday 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM and on Saturday from 3 PM to 6 PM you have the chance to learn how to be fully present in that tropical state of mind in Punta Cana. Learn more about this event here.
International food fest
Once a year the Cap Cana Heritage School organizes the International Festival: World without borders. A festival where the students introduce different cultures and foods. Expect food from India, Italy, Dominican Republic, Holland, just to name a few. But not only food is available, there is some entertainment too! The festivities start at 12:30 PM on Saturday in Cap Cana. Tickets at the door are 500 pesos. For more information visit their website here.
Get inspired at TEDx Punta Cana
We all know those Youtube videos of inspirational speakers at TEDx events that have gone viral. Well, you have the chance to witness such a talk live! On Saturday the 13th of October TEDx Punta Cana takes place in the Blue Mall Punta Cana. Inspiring speakers will take the stage to share their knowledge and experiences. One of the speakers is Dominican artist Thimo Pimentel. He is the one that created the statues in the underwater museum in Punta Cana. Lola Manzana, who you might know from our BOP faces is also present with art pieces she made for TEDx Punta Cana. This is definitely one of the best things to do in Punta Cana this weekend. Click here for more information about the event and how to get tickets. Little note: the talks are in Spanish. It starts at 4 PM.
Havana nights
After being mindful, getting inspired and eating all those international foods, it is time to dance some Cuban salsa at Habana 537 at Plaza Turquesa in Bavaro. Dancing Salsa there on Saturday night is even a bit more special, since there will be people playing timbales live. Those are the drums that define the beat in Salsa. Put on your dancing shoes from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM!
Build your own ceviche
Looking for something different to do on Sunday? How about learning how to make ceviche on the beach. At Little John on Juanillo Beach you can take a class in making ceviche from chef Embert. This is really amongst the best things to do this weekend. Let’s be honest, when do you have the chance to create ceviche on one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. The class is from 1 PM till 4 PM. Reserve your spot by sliding in the direct messages from Little John on Instagram here.
Sunday chill session
This event is one of our favorites. It is one of the best things to do on Sunday, when you want to enjoy some music with a beach view. So, why not hang out at the Playa Turquesa Ocean Club for some live music with a view and see our Khris Joe from BOP faces live? The musical program starts at 2 PM and ends at 5 PM.
