Coolest things to do in Punta Cana 8 – 10 June

Do you feel it coming up already? That weekend vibe. Yes, it is Friday! Time to find out about the coolest things to do in Punta Cana this weekend. Get free introductory surfing classes at Macao, enjoy Global Wellness Day at the beach, search for turtle tracks, and much more!

Nam Nam and Living Room

After work or a long day at the beach, you need to go for something to eat this Friday night. Head over to Nam Nam. As we mentioned in our article on best burger places in Punta Cana, they have 5 different versions of burgers on the menu. So why not eat a burger first, cross the street afterward and get a cocktail at Living room, to celebrate the start of the weekend. Both places are located on Calle Aruba in Bavaro.

Global Wellness day at Playa Blanca

Celebrate Global Wellness day at Playa Blanca on Saturday. Wellness Day is a day that reminds the entire world about the importance of living well. So, what can you do at Playa Blanca? There is Yoga, Shiatsu, a cooking show, and even a Vixen work out. We are curious about that last one. Don´t know where to leave your kids that day? No worries, you can take them along.  Click here for more information.

The fun starts at 9:30 AM and ends at 6 PM.

Surf Day evolution at Macao beach

If you always wanted to try surfing, then you are very lucky this weekend. Macao Surf Camp – you met one of the owners Rafael in BOP faces – is organizing a Surf day together with the brand Quiksilver at Macao Beach on Saturday. Expect art, music, gifts, surprises and of course lots of surfing. You can even participate in free introductory surfing classes. In our opinion, this is definitely one of the coolest things to do in Punta Cana this weekend. This event starts at 10 AM at Macao Surf Camp.

NOIS takeover at Under the Club

You might have heard of the parties by NOIS music here in Punta Cana. This time they are taking over Under the Club. One of the newest hotspots in town. It is actually in a cave. Expect loads of house and techno. Even if you are not a lover of these genres, you will get into it, because in the end dancing in a cave is something special on its own. The party starts at 10 PM on Saturday night. Read more about this event here.

Search for turtle tracks on Sunday

For this one, you will need to get up very early, but in our opinion, it is one of the coolest things to do in Punta Cana. At the moment the turtles in Punta Cana are nesting. To keep those nests safe from being run over by vehicles or people stepping on them, Punta Cana resort organizes turtle walks with volunteers. How does it work? From 5:45 am to 6:45 am, you will be walking a 5 km trail starting at the Ojos Indigenous. A beautiful walk. You will be searching for turtle tracks. As soon as you spot tracks or a nest, these will be marked. In the afternoon these nests will get a protective barrier, so everyone knows not to bother it. It is all about keeping those baby turtles safe, so they can be released into the sea. You can participate by sending an email to Samantha Mercado at smercado@puntacana.com. She is the coordinator of the project and will be able to give you more information. The turtle trails are also organized during the week. The more volunteers the better!

Now you are ready to enjoy all the coolest things to do in Punta Cana!

Enjoy your weekend!
