Food for change
Attention all foodies! You can eat and combat climate change and protect biodiversity at the same time. Where? At the Mediterraneo restaurant at Eden Roc Cap Cana. You know the boutique hotel, we mentioned on BOP before. From the 4th till the 7th of October the Food for Change festival is taking place there. Expect a special climate-friendly menu based on local, seasonal products in the spirit of the Slow Food movement. Get more information about this event here. Escape to DR
If you are someone that is not that into slow food, but more into fast Soca rhythms, than you are very lucky this weekend. You will have the chance to party from today until till Tuesday with artists like Popcaan and hip-hop star Yo Gotti. Some of the parties take place in hotel Barcelo, but don’t let that spoil your fun if you are not staying there. You can also join the festivities at Imagine and Pearl Beach Club, where tickets at the door can be bought. Warning, these parties are not for the faint hearted. The colors of music
Arts and culture lovers can pass by the Punta Cana Academy of Music and art tonight (Friday). Renowned local artist Ralph Solano, and famous composer and conductor, Dante Cucurullo, will be giving an innovative performance during the opening’s ceremony of their show/ exposition “Los Colores de La Música”. Horses and farmers Market
If you want to do something different on Saturday? Hop by Los Establos in Cap Cana on Saturday and Sunday. At Los Establos horses live under the best circumstances. Think, lots of space to run around, grooming and good food. On Saturday and Sunday, you can watch a jumping competition from 9 AM to 3 PM. If you want to know more about the horses go on a guided tour on Sunday from 12 PM to 2 PM. That day you can also shop for and taste local goods at the Organic Market there.
Lounge around on Cortecito beach
You can’t let the weekend go by without going to the beach. And do we have a good spot for you! Head on to Capri Beach house. On their Chill in Sundays, you can enjoy good music, great cocktails and a beautiful view! It starts at noon.
