BOP´S 5 BEST BREAKFAST PLACES IN PUNTA CANA

a plate of food on a table

It is the most important meal of the day as they say. Breakfast. So why not spend it at places in Punta Cana, where you can be out in the sun enjoying your first hours of the day? In this edition of BOP, we show you our 5 best breakfast places in Punta Cana.

Coconut bowls and French Baguette

We mentioned this cute Coffee Shop in Cap Cana in our article on vegan and vegetarian options in Punta Cana. In addition to offering vegan and vegetarian options, Breakers has a breakfast that is delicious. Enjoy their French croissants (chocolate, natural, multigrain), that taste like you are visiting a bakery in Paris. Their eggbreaks, eggs made in different ways, or the coconut bowls, with greek yogurt, homemade granola, and fresh fruit are mouth-watering. There are much more breakfast options and they also have fresh juices. Choices, choices, choices. Go try it for yourself!

Breakers Coffee Shop is located in the Fishing Lodge in Cap Cana, and is open daily from 8:00 am.

A bit of sea and reggae

This place is one of our favorites in Bavaro. We already mentioned it in BOP´s weekly. Balicana is the spot where you wake up at the beach get a fresh juice and start your day. A simple breakfast, but their passion fruit, banana, and mango juices are the freshest. Don´t be surprised to hear some reggae music on Sundays. It will get you in the ultimate beach mood. Tip: hang out there all day and enjoy the Thai food that they also serve.

Balicana is located in Bavaro at the end of the Calle Marcio Veloz Maggiolo.

Bagels and Dominican breakfast

Another place to have breakfast is Brot Bagel shop in Punta Cana village. A place not known for its French pastries, on the contrary, we go there to have a Dominican Breakfast. Yes, they do have bagels and other breakfast dishes too. But when you are looking for a traditional plate, this place will leave you satisfied. Mangu is what this dish is called. It is made from green plantain. This is mushed together and served with fried eggs and salami. No need to have lunch later because this food will keep your belly full for a while!

Brot Bagel shop is located in Punta Cana Village, in the Galerias de Punta Cana, Calle Gri Gri and is open daily from 7:00 am.

Breakfast with an ocean view

If you want to treat yourself to a breakfast, where you are enjoying the view of the beautiful turquoise Caribbean sea, then the Blue Grill & Bar at the Eden Roc hotel is your spot. The location itself will have you saying, ´oee´s and aah´s´ because of its incredible scenery. The breakfast will have you losing your mind as well. Fresh pancakes, French toast, waffles, and a variety of different style eggs. Spanish eggs, made from a potato tortilla with Iberian Chorizo and Manchego cheese. But the real surprise lies in their ritual breakfasts from around the world. Do you know how a Japanese breakfast tastes? Well after eating here you will.

Eden Roc is located in Cap Cana, Juanillo. Breakfast at the Blue Grill and Bar is open daily from 7:00 am to 10:30 am.

Nutritional popsicles

Hidden away in Bavaro, Joy Nutritional Popsicle is one of those places you happen to hear about from someone. “Go check out that place it is really good”, we were told. And it is. It is in the name, nutritional popsicle. Expect breakfast dishes, like scrambled eggs, yogurt with chia and granola, bagels and fruit plates. But their homemade marmalade has everyone going crazy. And of course their ice cream. These popsicles are made from different sorts of fruits. All natural. This place is vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free friendly.

Joy Nutritional Popsicle is located on Los Corales H1 in Bavaro and is open daily from 8:00 am.

Empanadas Galore

If you really, really want to go local. Check out the Cruce de Veron. A busy crossing in Veron. We mentioned it in BOP goes local. Veron is a place in Punta Cana, where a lot of people from different parts of the Dominican Republic moved to. Especially for the job opportunities in tourism since it is a location, where you can easily take a bus to work in the resorts in Punta Cana. In the middle of the Cruce, there you will find our favorite Empanada stand next to gas station Texaco.  Chicken, vegetables, cheese, you name it. Our favorite one is the one with chicken and vegetables. So when you are on the road stop by and grab an empanada on the go.

Open daily from 6:00 am.

What are you waiting for rise and shine and get some breakfast!

Send us your suggestions for breakfast places in Punta Cana and we will feature them on BOP!
